Join us this Valentine’s Day for a tantalising tale of travel, nostalgia and human connection. Named no.3 best romantic film of all time by The Guardian, Richard Linklater’s 1995 classic Before Sunrise will pull into Norwood Junction to provide a perfect date night experience. Treat a loved one, or come on your own to indulge in a love of travel and classic cinema.
Two young people, a French graduate student (Julie Delpy) and an American tourist (Ethan Hawke), meet briefly on a train traveling through Europe. Each enjoy talking to each other so much that they decide to get off the train together in Vienna. As they wander the city together and their night progresses, their connection makes the idea of separating the next morning a difficult choice.
Suggested by community member Mel Arazaz, who says, “[Before Sunrise] made me fall in love with travelling, all the people you meet on the way and the memories you make. Everyone who's anyone should watch this movie, young old and those who have fallen and lost love or had that amazing travel romance that still has a place in your heart.”
Make your evening that extra bit more special with a delicious cupcake and a glass of bubbly from our licensed bar! We have teamed up with Walnuts and Honey, SE25’s very own Micro Bakery, who will be serving up their luxurious buttercream delights before the film.

A little more about Community Takeover:
As representatives of our community in SE25, we want to make sure the films we show are as relevant and widely appealing as possible. Local residents and members now have a chance to steer our programming for a number of events throughout the year, by putting forward suggestions based on theme. These then get shortlisted by us, and put to a public vote.
The winning film gets screened and the person who suggested it will get two free tickets to the screening, as well as being credited in our marketing materials. Simple!
