Screen25 is twice-weekly community cinema, based at the Harris Academy in South Norwood. Our vision is for an accessible cultural hub that reflects community needs and demographics; a space for local people to come together and enjoy a diverse, carefully curated programme of new releases and cult classics. Alongside our regular programme on Wednesday and Friday evenings, we also offer parent and baby screenings, family matinees and occasional special events.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to undertake a 4-month unpaid work experience placement with us, from 3rd April - 31st July 2019, for 1-2 days a week, depending on the candidate’s availability.
You will receive ongoing mentoring and support to set you up with a range of marketing skills and expand your knowledge of the sector.
Responsibilities may include:
Social media scheduling, including content creation and copywriting;
Outreach - researching and contacting promotional partners to build audiences and increase brand awareness;
Updating event listings;
Supporting on newsletter creation.
Enthusiastic, with a passion for film and cinema exhibition
Proven interest in marketing and social media
Excellent communication skills, both written and face-to-face
The ability to work on your own initiative
Familiarity with South Norwood and/or surrounding areas
Knowledge of some of the applications we use: Gmail, Google Drive, Mailchimp, Squarespace, Canva, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
Understanding of, and affinity for, community cinema
