As a non-profit community interest company we heavily rely on volunteer support to keep the show on the road. We are currently on the look-out for enthusiastic people to help out across the board, but mainly in the following areas:

  • Front-of-House: Ushering, bar work, ticket / membership sales and setting up for events;
  • Projection: Setting up and packing down equipment, starting the films and monitoring sound and video during the screenings. No specific technical experience is required, just a willingness to learn new skills, an organised and considered approach and a decent level of confidence using technology and equipment. Training will be provided and less experienced volunteers will be supervised by a manager;

  • Back-of-House: Support where needed across a range of areas including (but not limited to) marketing, PR, fundraising, copywriting, volunteer coordination and general admin.

All volunteers are expected to help with flyer distribution, which is one of the keys ways in which people hear about us. The requirement is around 90 minutes every 1-2 months.

We welcome people with relevant skills which may benefit our development, such as graphic design, photography and videography, as well as experience in PR, sponsorship, marketing, fundraising and projection / AV technology.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • You must be 16+ (under 18s will not be allowed to work on the bar);

  • We take volunteers from a range of backgrounds, ages and ethnicities, and do not discriminate;

  • We are happy to take applicants from all over London, but it is advantageous if you live locally to South Norwood and are familiar with the area;

  • You will be expected to commit to a minimum of 6 hours / month, which breaks down as:

1. 90 minutes of flyer distribution (in your own time)
2. One 4-5 hour front-of-house or projection shift OR 4-5 hours of back-of-house office support

  • If you would like to help out at events you must be available on Wednesday evenings from 6.15pm, or occasional Thursday mornings and weekends from 9.30am;
  • Due to pop-up nature of our events, all front-of-house volunteers are expected to help out with the set-up and break-down of events;

  • We expect all front-of-house volunteers to dress smartly in black. You will be given a Screen25 badge to wear whilst on shift.

The Benefits

Of course, we realise that volunteering has to be a two-way thing, and beneficial for both parties. In addition to the lovely feel-good feeling you will get from contributing something positive to our community, we also offer:

  • Unlimited free tickets when you are not on shift, and pending availability.

  • 30% discount on refreshments.

  • An opportunity to get involved behind-the-scenes and attend occasional meetings and social events.

  • Food and travel expenses, where needed.
